Scandinavian Gold Kronor Value
Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. Three countries, one gold standard. The 20 Kronor holds over a quarter ounce of gold.
Denmark, Sweden, and Norway formed the Scandinavian Monetary Union in 1873, standardizing their gold coinage. All three countries produced 10 and 20 Kronor gold coins with identical gold content.
Gold Content and Melt Values
Norwegian 20 Kronor coins are the scarcest of the three. Norway had a smaller economy and minted fewer coins. Swedish issues are the most common. A Danish, Swedish, or Norwegian 20 Kronor all contain the same 0.2593 troy ounces of gold.
